How To: Advanced Module „Techniques (practical course)“

The practical application of modern analytic methods is required in order to determine molecular structures, to evaluate reaction processes, and to elucidate reaction mechanisms, which will be practiced in this module. The lab courses within this module aim for the elucidation of molecular structures by means of spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and X-ray diffraction techniques. Specific laboratory techniques to deal with highly reactive reagents, sensitive catalysts and specific reaction control will be practiced. In addition, the application of computational chemistry to real world problem is trained by using state-of-the-art methods and scientific computer programs. In the lab course synthesis small groups will work independently on research proposal developed in the seminar synthesis (TEC module).

Attendance is compulsory for all courses of the ATEC module!
